Beyond the classroom.

By profession, I am an Ethics Education teacher at secondary level in Malta. I also lecture, on a casual basis, at the University of Malta, Knights College, the Malta Leadership Institute, and the Institute for Education.

My formal development as an educator grew through the Master in Teaching and Learning in Ethics Education at the University of Malta. Alongside teaching and tutoring, I became increasingly involved in educational projects, peer-reviewed research and public writing on the relationship between education and sociopolitics.

My research interests centre on the philosophy of education and the social sciences, particularly education policy, civic education and social justice. I am interested in how institutions politicise education, how policy shapes students and educators, and the role of civic education and ethics in contemporary lives.

Educational activism is therefore not separate from my teaching. I am continuously involved in developing and discussing policy proposals; I lead a youth group focused on activism and change, and I regularly contribute to public discussion through articles, media and conferences.

Guiding Values

I view education as a public good that goes beyond employability, measurement, or economic growth. Education ought to pursue spaces of encounter, dialogue, and critique.
